A woman in her 40s has been arrested in connection with the seizure of up to €50,000 worth of ecastacy, cocaine, and cannabis in Offaly yesterday.

Gardai carried out a planned search of an apartment at Granary Court, Edenderry, Co. Offaly at around 6pm.

Cannabis, ecstasy and cocaine with an estimated combined street value of up to €50,000 (pending analysis) were seized, as well as drug paraphernalia.

A woman in her 40’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Kildare Garda Station.

A garda spokesperson said these operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.

Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities.

Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality, the garda spokesperson said.
