Woman (67) killed and man (50s) in serious condition following two-car crash

A man and woman, both aged in their 20s, have also been hospitalised

A 67-year-old woman has been killed following a two-car crash in Co Kerry.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at around 12.30pm.

The woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was taken to University Hospital Kerry by ambulance.

She was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the same car, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital and is currently in a serious condition.

A man and woman, both aged in their 20s, were the occupants of the second car.

The were both taken to University Hospital Kerry where their conditions are understood to be stable.

The road was closed for a number of hours while investigators examined the cars and crash site, but it has since reopened to traffic.

The investigation is ongoing and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
