Witnesses to hit-and-run incident urged to contact gardai

Witnesses who saw a hit-and-run incident last month have been urged to contact gardai.

The incident happened on the M6 West bound between Junction 5, Kilbeggan and Junction 6, Moate on November 29 at approximately 9pm.

The driver of a silver Toyota Yaris was struck from the rear by another vehicle, causing it to spin across the road.

The Toyota driver did not need hospital treatment after the collision.

There is no description available of the offending vehicle, which failed to stay at the scene.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses who may have travelled this stretch of road between 8pm and 10pm on November 29 or anyone with information that can assist, to contact Athlone Garda Station on 090 6498550, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
