WATCH: Mick Wallace dyes his hair pink for Today FM's Shave or Dye campaign

Mick Wallace was looking pretty in pink yesterday. Not only was he sporting one of his familiar pink tops, but now he has the hair to match.

The Wexford TD agreed to change the colour of his unmistakable coiffure as part of Today FM's Shave or Dye or Oh My! annual fundraiser for the Irish Cancer Society.

Mick told presenter Matt Cooper that he gets his hair cut twice a year. "I have to look respectable for the Dáil," he deadpanned.

"I actually go through a lot of effort. I wash every day and I try and be clean. Ceann Comhairle doesn't agree with my dress sense, but there are a lot of things he doesn't  agree with, so I don't really worry too much about it."

Although the Independent TD was happy to take part in the event, he was less than happy to have a comb go near his locks.

When Matt asked if his hair had even seen a comb, Wallace sternly replied: "Oh God no. Oh Jaysus, where would I be going with a comb?"

The veteran Today FM broadcaster joined it, turning his hair a shade of electric blue.

More than 30,000 Shave or Dye events have been held across the country since the scheme launched in 2010.

This year’s campaign 'Shave or Dye or Oh My!' encourages people to share their bad hair selfies on social media, while also persuading their friends to do the same and donate €2 to the Irish Cancer Society.
