WATCH: Charming short film on the end of an era as old-school Dublin DIY shop closes its doors
A short film about the closure of Churchtown Stores, an old-school hardware shop in Dublin run by three brothers who have worked together for 30 years, is sure to charm all who watch.
Independent shops like these are becoming rarer as time goes and this engaging short film documents the end of an era at the well-known shop in Churchtown.
Three brothers, Barry, Kieran and Fehan Flood, have run the shop on Braemor Road in the village since it opened in 1987.
The much-loved shop closes the shutters for good at the end of the month after the trio agreed that they should retire.
Throughout the short film the trio speak lovingly of the fun they have had over the years and how much they appreciate their customers.
It is sad to see the shop go but this film is a fitting tribute to their place in the heart of the community for many years.
