Walk on part - Bryan Dobson takes seat after Six One News starts

Veteran RTE presenter Bryan Dobson had a walk-on part in tonight’s Six One News show.

A technical problem meant the veteran news anchor could not take his seat before the show started, leaving his co-presenter Sharon Ni Bheolain manning the desk.

The lighting issue meant that Dobson had to move from his usual position seconds before the show started and walk on once the broadcast had started.

However, Dobson was not ruffled as he calmly took his place and read his first line like a true pro.

It's not the first time RTE broadcasters have been left with egg on their faces.

Similar footage has been taken of Dobson's colleagues who were unaware of when the camera was rolling.

Ni Bheolain was captured live on the news programme pulling an 'unimpressed' face at one of the show's segments.

When she realised she was on air, she continued to read the news, subject to a few stifled giggles.

Another viral video was the moment Aengus MacGrianna was caught doing his pre-show makeup routine.

Twitter has already reacted to the latest blooper from RTE.

"Whenever you're ready @bryansixone - top marks for calm stroll to desk for #sixone!," posted Brian Nolan.

Meanwhile Bax McBrien asked: "Anyone see Dobbo walking to his seat at the top of the six one news? #dobbowalkofshame"
