Two young men killed in separate road crashes

A man has died after his motorbike collided with a car in Co Leitrim on Saturday morning.

Gardaí are investigating the fatal road traffic which happened at Cloonchair, Mohill, Co Leitrim.

A spokesman said that biker, who is aged in his 30s, was in collision with a car at 11.20am.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Sligo University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.

The driver of the car was not injured.

In a separate incident a young man died after a road crash in Co Mayo on Saturday afternoon.

The man, aged in his 20s, died in a single vehicle accident on the N5 between Carracastle and Charlestown at approximately 4pm.

The deceased has been removed to Mayo University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The road has re-opened following an examination of the crash site by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Claremorris Garda Station on 094 9372080.
