A man and a woman have been arrested following the discovery of half a million euro worth of heroin in a South Dublin home.
Following a surveillance operation by the Drug Unit in Kevin Street into the sale and supply of heroin in South Dublin, gardai searched a house in Swan Grove in Ranelagh, Dubiln 6, yesterday afternoon.,
The operation was supported by the Emergency Response Unit (ERU).
During the search, gardai discovered seven blocks of heroin, weighing half a kilo each.
The drugs have an estimated street value of €525,000.
A man in his forties was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Kevin Street Garda Station.
A woman in her forties was also arrested at the scene. She has since been released without charge a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
