Two men and two women have been arrested as part of a garda operation into money laundering.

The two men, aged 19 and 29, and two women, aged 28 and 50, were arrested this morning at houses in the Fairhill and Knocknaheeny areas of Cork.

The Cork Divisional Drug Unit and Fraud Unit have been conducting an ongoing operation into money laundering, and are being assisted by members of the Criminal Assets Bureau.

All four are currently being detained at Gurranbraher, Mayfield and Bridewell garda stations.

This morning’s arrests follow on from four arrests – three women and one man - made on September 3rd.

These individuals have since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
