Two arrested following seizure of €10,000 drugs in planned house search

A 29-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the seizure of €10,000 worth of drugs.

Some 5,000 Diazepam and Alprazolam - and 50g of cannabis resin - was recovered from a house in the Waterford area on Monday afternoon.

Revenue’s Customs Service, the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Waterford Drugs Unit and the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) were involved in the planned search shortly after midday

The combined value of the drugs is approximately €10,000, pending analysis.

The man and woman remain detained at Waterford Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 as amended.

Investigations are continuing.
