Three people stabbed at GAA clubhouse

THREE people are recovering in hospital today after they were stabbed in a GAA club.

The incident occurred in Rathcoffey GAA club in Co Kildare at 2am on Sunday morning.

Gardai have questioned a man about the incident.

It’s understood one of the victims – a 25-year-old man - was stabbed four times and is expected to undergo surgery.

A second victim – a 23-year-old man – was stabbed in the neck and a 28-year-old woman received a knife wound while trying to stop the incident.

All three were rushed to hospital.

It’s understood the victims were in the clubhouse shortly after a birthday party was held for another man.

Gardai in Naas are investigating the incident.
