Three men arrested as gardai seize heroin, tablets, and cannabis worth €700k in raid
Gardai arrested three men (aged 31, 35 and 44) as they seized heroin, tablets, cannabis herb and resin to the value of €700,000 yesterday.
Gardai carried out the raid at Rathkenny, County Meath at around 3.30pm.
A quantity of cannabis herb was recovered at the scene, and quantities of heroin, tablets and cannabis herb/resin were seized in follow-up searches.
A large sum of cash was also seized.
The arrested men are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking), Act, 1996 at Kells and Navan Garda Stations.
Investigations by Garda Organised Crime Unit and the Garda National Drugs Unit are ongoing.
A garda spokespserson said these operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.
Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities, the spokesperson added. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
