'The whole community is shocked by this tragic news' - man killed in car crash named locally

The man who died in a road crash in Roscommon has been named locally as Oisin Allman.

Oisin, who is in his 40s, died in a single-vehicle crash near Athlone at 3.20pm on June 3.

Mr allman, originally from Frenchpark, had a successful auctioneering business in Salthill, Galway.

He was with his wife at time time of the crash who sustained non-life threatening injuries.

According to local councillor Liam Callaghan, Oisin was well known within the Frenchpark community.

"I know the family quite well and the whole community is shocked by the tragic news.

"Oisin had a very successful auctioneering business and was very well liked by everyone who knew him.

"It's a sad day and my sympathy goes to his mother Teresa and the rest of his family."
