NoLita on Dublin’s South Great George’s Street is throwing its doors open this Friday night for a special fundraiser headlined by The Strypes and Roisin O.

RTE 2FM’s Eoghan McDermott is hosting Delicate (T)Issue – an event which promises to be a very special evening of music and performance art in aid of Pieta House, Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and An Saol.

The fundraiser which kicks off at 6pm is aimed at raising awareness of the untold stories of those with acquired brain injuries related to mental illness.

Sets by the Strypes, Roisin O and others will be complemented on the night by a performance art piece by Dublin Fringe Festival’s Vickey Curtis, as well as a spoken word and a sound-and-light show. Complimentary food and drinks will be served between 6pm and 10pm.

An average of 450 people die by suicide every year in Ireland.  But for every suicide, there are 25 attempts made to take one's own life.

These attempted suicides often result in serious brain damage that can affect a person’s mobility, senses, and their ability to care for themselves.

This Friday evening’s event is being held in an effort to encourage people to talk to each other about mental health and also the impact suicide has on the people left behind.
