Teenage cyclist (14) serious injured after collision with 4x4

A teenage boy has been seriously injured after his bike collided with a 4x4.

The accident happened on a local road between Monasterevin and Oghill (L7055) in Co Kildare at around 12.30pm.

He was brought by ambulance to Our Lady's Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.

The driver, a man aged in his 30s, was uninjured in the incident.

The scene was examined by Garda forensic collision investigators and the road has since reopened.
