A man has been arrested following an armed robbery on a Burger King outlet in which staff were threatened with a knife.

The incident occured at a branch of the fast food chain on Belgard Road in Tallaght at 8pm last night.

A lone male approached the counter and brandished a knife, demanding cash from the workers.

He then smashed open a cash register and took an undisclosed sum of cash thought to be in the region of €1,000 before escaping.
