THE sister of a Galway man who was killed last week paid an emotional tribute to her brother at his funeral mass yesterday, thanking him for all the good times and joy he had brought to their family.

Yvonne Ni Chualain spoke movingly of her brother
Adrian Folan (41), whose body was discovered in a quarry near Liscannor, Co Clare on Monday. Hundreds of friends and family packed into Seipeal Mhic Dara in Carraroe to pay their last respects to Adrian, known affectionately to many as 'Carraroe Joe'.

His sister fought back tears as she told the packed congregation of her brother's love of technology, darts, books and gardening. He had just completed his Masters in software engineering in Athlone and had been due to take up a new job with communications company Ericsson within weeks. "Adrian was in the prime of his life and was so helpful to our parents in every possible way. A man who would give his last penny," she recalled.

A prayer of the faithful was also said for Adrian's brother Declan, who has been charged with his murder. Following the funeral mass, Adrian was laid to rest in Barr an Doire Cemetery in Carraroe.
