RTE Host Ryan Tubridy has revealed that he didn't like Playboy founder Hugh Hefner at all.

Speaking at the start of his radio show this morning the Late Late Show host revealed that he never met Hefner but said he was left feeling "cold" by him.

The magazine founder's death was confirmed in a tweet this morning.

Playboy posted a photo in black and white of its creator, accompanied by one of his quotes that read: "Life it too short to be living somebody else's dream."

A number of others took to Twitter to speak about their heartbreak at his death including Nancy Sinatra and Kim Kardashian.

But Mr Tubridy wasn't joining in the tributes.

He said: "I didn't like him at all, I was never at the Playboy mansion, I never got an invite, maybe that's what it's all about? Maybe I feel left down.

"But it does, particularly given the last five years and the way society has moved, he does seem to represent something from a past very, very far away now.

"It does seem to have been Jurassic in that dinosaur way he became at the end.

"That whole smoking jacket and young women around him in this weird house. [We] will look back on it in years to come and say: 'It just was a very peculiar story'.

"Obviously rest in peace and all that, but wasn't one for me. I don't mean that in a prudish way by any means, it just feels like it is another day's work altogether."
