RTE has removed a clip of popular entertainer Twink appearing in brown make-up from its official archives.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster told the Sunday Independent: "Times have changed".

Twink, real name Adele King, had appeared on RTE's The Live Mike in 1982 in full dark make-up, with three backing dancers also in dark make-up and Afro-style wigs.
