There were celebrations today at the Lotto HQ as four lucky winners collected almost €8m after winning the jackpot last month.

The group, who wish to remain private, collected €7,902,685 after realising their win as the numbers were pulled on Saturday, April 23.

But despite plans to escape the Irish weather and head to the sun, the practical foursome said they’ll return to work on their return to Ireland.

“We are all planning a nice long sun holiday this week so we can take some time out and think carefully about what we will do with our winnings," said one of the winners, who all hail from Wexford.

"We are going to enjoy this win for a long time but the priority for all of us in the syndicate is to take care of our individual families."

And this lifetime player of the Lotto is hoping to continue his lucky winning streak.

“It’s already been over two weeks since we hit the jackpot and the reality of it all has really only started to sink in," he said.

"The rest of the syndicate are laughing at me because I have continued to do our usual lines in the Lotto and EuroMillions ever since.

The winning ticket, a normal draw ticket, was purchased in Londis, The Faythe, Co. Wexford on the day of the draw.
