We are still struggling to come to terms with Eircode but one person has decided to dispense with addresses altogether.

A postman in Co Wexford managed to deliver a letter to an address in the county with just a hand-drawn map to go by.

The Hook Lighthouse, situated at the tip of the Hook peninsula, shared a photo of the envelope on their Facebook page.

It featured a drawing of the lighthouse with the message: "Here please".

Hook Lighthouse, which is one of the oldest lighthouses in the world, wrote: “Fair play to our postman who managed to deliver this map drawn address from Red Dave #postiechallenge.”

And what was the important message? “A little note to say how much the writer liked the Hook Lighthouse,” they revealed.
