Pedestrian (60s) killed after being struck by articulated truck
A pedestrian was fatally injured when he was hit by an articulated truck this afternoon.
The man, aged in his 60s, was struck by the lorry on the N24 at Townpark, Carrick On Suir shortly before 3pm.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Gardai have launched an investigation into the road traffic collision.
The section of road was closed for a time in order to facilitate a forensic examination.
It has since reopened.
