A MOTORIST is due to appear in court after gardai found they didn't have a driving licence and their car didn't have insurance, NCT or tax.

The driver was stopped by gardai from the Longford Roads Policing Unit at MIT this week.

It was discovered that they didn't have a driving licence and their car, which they had only bought two hours before they were stopped, didn't have insurance, tax or NCT. Gardai found that a passenger in the car also had cannabis herb.

A statement released on the Garda Traffic Twitter account this morning confirmed that the vehicle was seized and the driver is due to appear in court.

The cannabis was also seized by gardai and the passenger is also set to appear before the courts.
