The first Inspiration Awards will feature six categories covering young people, sports, caring, environmental change, charity and community.

From the six category winners, an overall Inspirational Person of the Year will be crowned at the Gala awards evening to be held at the Marker Hotel, Dublin, on November 20.
"We want to shine a light on those people who inspire us all with their acts of kindness and efforts to help others, whether it be in their community, sporting organisation or for charity," said Sunday Independent editor Cormac Bourke at the launch of the awards last week.
"We all know people who make a difference to the lives of others in Ireland so we're encouraging our readers to nominate inspirational people from their communities who we can acknowledge at our Gala awards."
People can nominate themselves or others via www.gala.ie or by going into one of Gala's 200 convenience stores.
Gala Retail chief executive Gary Desmond said: "We're a national brand with a local focus, which is why we've partnered with the Sunday Independent to pay homage to people from across Ireland who play their part creating a better Ireland.
"Our stores hear about inspirational stories every day from their shoppers and their communities, and this is our chance to give back and support those inspirational people who selflessly go over and above for others."
The Sunday Independent/Gala Retail Inspiration Awards ceremony will be presented by Miriam O'Callaghan on November 20 at the Marker Hotel.
To nominate yourself or a worthy individual, select the most suitable category and complete the online form available at www.gala.ie/inspirationawards/ with entries closing on October 13.
Mr Bourke was joined by Mr Desmond and health and wellness coach Alison Canavan at the photo call to launch the inaugural Inspiration Awards at the Marker Hotel.
