Motorcyclist in serious condition after suspected hit-and-run, gardaí issue fresh appeal

A male motorcylist remains in a serious condition in hospital 11 days after he was knocked down in a suspected hit-and-run incident.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the serious road traffic collision which occurred near the road works on the L3132, St. Margaret’s Road, Swords in the early hours of Sunday, September 10.

Gardaí said the man remains in a serious condition in Beaumont hospital following this collision.

"Investigations to date suggest that another vehicle may have been involved in this collision. That vehicle did not remain at the scene."

Speaking at Coolock Garda Station this morning Superintendent Gerry Donnelly said: "Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses who may have travelled this stretch of road between 3am and 4am on Sunday Morning 10/09/17 to contact them at Swords Garda Station  01-6664700, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
