Marian gives little mention to issue of pay equality with show panel
RTÉ's growing gender gap pay row garnered little mention on Sunday's 'Marian Finucane' programme.
Finucane - who was the highest paid female in RTÉ's top earners for 2014 - read out the headline from the 'Sunday Independent' 'Sharon speaks out on RTÉ pay gap'. There was no further commentary from her on the story. She provided some context on other stories as she read out the headlines from the Sunday newspapers.
A member of her panel - RTÉ News' agriculture and environment correspondent George Lee - also featured on RTÉ's top earners list in 2014. Lee earned €179,031 while Finucane earned €295,000.
Brexit, tax cuts, Templemore and recycling were some of the topics discussed by the panel. Neither discussed Sharon Ní Bheoláin's comments during the programme.
Marian was one of only two women on RTÉ's top earners list in 2014 - the second was Miriam O'Callaghan, who earned €280,000.
O'Callaghan, who features as anchor on 'Prime Time', has her own summer chat show and does a Sunday morning radio show.
Finucane broadcasts her radio show every Saturday and Sunday.
