Manhunt underway after female staff member slashed during jewellery shop raid
A manhunt is underway after two men raided a jewellery store in North Dublin and slashed a female staff member.
Gardaí in Malahide are investigating the robbery of a premises at The Diamond in Malahide Village at approximately 5pm.
At least two suspects entered the premises and threatened staff. A number of items, including watches, were taken in the incident.
A garda spokesman confirmed that one female staff member was injured in an altercation and an ambulance was called to the scene.
It is believed she she received a cut to her forearm during the incident.
She was taken to hospital where her injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
Both suspects, at least one of whom was carrying a knife, ran in the direction of Church Rd and in the direction of Malahide Castle.
A heavy garda presence is in the area this evening as officers searched the grounds of Malahide Castle for the men.
The first suspect is described as being 5'9" around 50 years of age, very pale, wearing glasses and a yellow jacket. The second man was wearing a black jacket and white hat. He was much younger than the first.
