Man due in court after €310,000 drug seizure
A man (45) is due in court charged in relation to a €310,000 drugs seizure.
The drugs were discovered by gardai during two separate raids as part of a planned raid by the Cork City Drugs Unit.
During the first raid, gardai stopped a van on the Dublin Road, Cashel, County Tipperary on January 27 and found €30,000 worth of cannabis.
The two occupants of the van, a male aged 45 years and a female aged 43 years, were arrested and held at Cahir Garda station where they were detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking) Act.
On January 28, a second raid was carried out in a house in Cashel. During the search, gardai discovered heroin with an approximate street value of €280,000.
The woman was later released without charge on Sunday night.
The man was charged in relation to the haul and is scheduled to appear before Nenagh District Court at 7.30pm.
