Man charged as garda manhunt ongoing after armed robbery at convenience shop leaves worker injured
A garda manhunt is still ongoing for a man who is alleged to have been involved in an armed robbery as another man has been charged.
The incident happened shortly before 7am yesterday morning at a convenience store in Neilstown, Dublin 22.
Two men, one armed with a gun, approached a member of staff at the entrance and assaulted him.
In the raid, they fled with cigarettes and alcohol.
Gardai arrested one man, mid 40s, close to the scene. He is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.
He is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court, tomorrow morning, Monday 26th September 2016 at 10.30am.
He remains in Garda custody.
The second man remains at large.
Gardaí located a firearm, a baton, cigarettes and alcohol in a follow up search.
The shop worker was taken to Tallaght hospital with minor injuries. The scene was preserved and technically examined.
