Man (40s) dies after two car crash

A man in his 40s has died in a two car collision that happened late last night.

The crash occurred at around 11.20pm last at Carramore, which is about 1.5 miles outside Roscommon Town. The man (40) was seriously injured in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Ballinasloe General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. There was no one else in this car.

A woman (44) who was driving the other car and her passenger (15 years of age) were also injured but their injuries are described as non-life threatening. They were taken to Tullamore General Hospital.

The road is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collison Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
