Man (36) killed in crash with minibus carrying 14 children
A man has been fatally injured in a serious road incident between a car and a minibus.
The 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash at approximately 11.10pm last night.
The incident occurred on the N4, the main Dublin to Longford Road at Corboy, Edgeworthstown.
A number of ambulances attended the scene to treat the passengers of the minibus, 14 children and two adults.
The teenagers were reportedly returning from a music event in Longford.
The body of the fatally injured man was taken to the morgue at Mullingar Hospital.
The driver of the minibus was also taken to Mullingar hospital where his injuries are described as non life threatening.
The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision Examination and diversions are in place.
