Man (36) beaten with baseball bats by seven men in home attack


A 36-year-old man has been beaten with baseball bats during a paramilitary attack in Belfast.

He suffered a number of fractures but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The attack happened when seven men forced their way into a house at Forthriver Drive in the north of the city at about 10pm yesterday.

A 33-year-old man was arrested during the early hours of this morning in connection with the assault.

Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) detective constable Gareth Hussey said: "A suspect was subsequently arrested in the Crumlin Road area at around 2am. He remains in custody at this time assisting us with our inquiries.

"We are keen to hear from anyone with information about this crime."
