Male cyclist dies following collision in Kerry earlier today

An investigation is underway following the death of a cyclist in Co Kerry this morning.

The male cyclist, who was in his 30s, was involved in a fatal road collision involving a car on the N22 at Scart, Farranfore, at approximately 11.15am this morning.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Kerry General Hospital. The driver and passenger of the car were not injured in the incident.

The road was closed to facilitate an examination but has since reopened.

Gardai in Killarney are investigating and have appealed for people who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 064 667 160, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
