Luas services fully restored following disruption due to lightning strike
Thousands of commuters were left frustrated this evening as lightning hit the Luas line in the capital at rush hour.
A spokesperson for Transdev told Independent.ie that lightning struck the system in the Milltown area shortly before 5pm.
The green line - from Brides Glen to St Stephens Green - were affected while services between Brides Glen and Beechwood operated as normal.
Maintenance crews worked to resolve the issue and customers were advised that their tickets are valid on Dublin Bus services.
A spokesperson for the Luas confirmed that services resumed at approximately 7pm.
