Locals pictured having pints in flooded Galway pub as Storm Eleanor hits
As Storm Eleanor wrecked havoc last night and floodwaters raged through businesses and households along the west coast, it wasn't enough to deter customers of a Galway pub from their pints.
As rising waters sloshed through the popular The Salt House Pub on Raven Terrace in Galway, a few bemused patrons watched the drama unfold from their high stools.
It was business as usual as customers ordered pints along the bar while Storm Eleanor raged outside.
Galway was one of the worst affected counties as Storm Eleanor slammed into Ireland on Tuesday night.
A number of people had to be rescued as rising floodwaters brought chaos to the county.
Cars were swept away by flash floods at 6pm in Oranmore. People were helped from their cars as waters suddenly rose over the road.
