It's no €140m - but one lucky Irish Euromillions punter has won €500,000 cash prize
This week's Euromillions jackpot will be the biggest top prize on offer this year - at a whopping €160m on Friday night.
But while Tuesday night's record €140,796,50 jackpot may have rolled over, one Irish punter will be happy with their sizeable €500,000 cash prize.
The holder of the Euromillions Plus ticket purchased the lucky slip in the south of Ireland with the numbers 4, 33, 48, 49 and 50.
However, no-one matched the winning numbers of 4, 7, 14, 34, 38 (Lucky Stars 4 and 11) to claim last night's €140m jackpot.
There have been nine Euromillions winners in Ireland so far, the biggest being Dolores McNamara from Limerick in 2005, who won over €115 million.
Irish players win over €100,000 on average in cash prizes each week. And, so far, players in Ireland have won over €839m in prizes since 2004.
The odds of winning a prize for a Euromillions line will be 1 in 13 when the new game enhancements are introduced.
So there's another chance to try to grab the elusive - and now even larger - €160m jackpot this Friday.
