The inaugural Dublin Human Rights Festival takes place this weekend. The event, which has been organised by the Front Line Defenders to celebrate the work of human rights organisations, is taking place in the Science Gallery in Trinity College this Saturday - and there is free admission.

The festival sees Front Line Defenders come together with the National LGBT Federation, National Women's Council of Ireland, Amnesty International Ireland and The Irish Council for Civil Liberties

A number of panel discussions will be taking place on topics such as gender rights, LGBTI rights, and online surveillance.

The festival will also feature workshops by Clowns Without Borders, Vocalism and Dabbledoo Music, as well as spoken word poetry performances with Erin Fornoff.

Earlier this week, Front Line Defenders had its biennial gathering - 'Platform 2017' - in Dublin Castle.
