Gardai investigating sudden death of man in Dublin Airport's Terminal 1
Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 70s at Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 this morning.
The discovery was made shortly after 10.20am in one of the men’s bathrooms in the terminal.
The man's body was taken to St James' Hospital.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A DAA spokesperson told independent.ie the body has since been removed from the airport and Gardai remain at the scene.
Spokeswoman Siobhan O’Donnell said: “It’s sad. We’ve saved 26 lives thanks to our defibrillator programme in the past number of years so it’s really sad to hear this because he was on his own.
"It’s hard for our colleagues when that happens.”
Sources told independent.ie it is believed he may have had an underlying health condition.
Gardaí are working to contact next of kin.
