Gardai have dismissed an incident that was, for a short time this afternoon, linked to the bitter gangland feud in Dublin.

After a call to gardai, it was suggested that two associates of the criminal gang had attempted to forcefully enter a property in the west side of the city today.

A person who was inside the home escaped unharmed after the pair failed to gain entry.

A garda probe, however, has indicated that there was nothing suspicious in the incident, with sources indicating that it only served the tension in some areas of the city.
