GARDAI have now almost completed their inquiries into a complaint by a high-profile businesswoman that she received "menacing and creepy" phone calls from an RTE employee.
An interview with a suspect employee was delayed after he was unable to fulfil an appointment to meet officers at a garda station. But it is understood he has now been interviewed about the allegations.
Officers will shortly be in a position to finalise a file on their inquiries and send it to the Director of Public Prosecutions, who will determine if charges should be brought.
The calls are alleged to be linked to a dispute in which the woman became involved as a result of her voluntary activities.
RTE carried out a separate internal inquiry into the complaint it received from the businesswoman. The station confirmed that the inquiry had been held but would not disclose what disciplinary action, if any, had been taken.
