Gardai begin land searches in case review of woman (33) missing for over 30 years
Gardai are currently carrying out searches of land and buildings in Co Galway as part of a investigation into a woman who has been missing for over 30 years.
Barbara Walsh (33) was reported missing from her home in Carna on June 22 in 1985 at around 4am.
The planned searches at Rusheenamanagh in Carna are part of an ongoing review of all missing persons in the Galway Garda Division.
A full review of this case was launched in January 2015 with a senior investigating officer appointed and an incident room established.
Over 100 (112) lines of enquiry have been generated and close to 60 people have been interviewed in the course of the review.
The Garda Technical Bureau are assisting Gardai with the searches of the lands
