Four deaths from flu were reported last week, bringing the official toll to ten so far this winter.

The spread of flu is stable and relatively low.

St James's Hospital is remains closed to visitors following a review by senior management this afternoon.

The public are urged to continue to cooperate with the visiting restrictions.

This is in order to protect patients, their families and staff from the spread of influenza, the hospital has said.

Any person with flu-like illness is urged to remain at home and to contact their GP by telephone for advice.
