Former ‘Evening Press’ features editor Sean McCann has died

Former ‘Evening Press’ features editor Sean McCann has passed away.

Mr McCann, aged in his 80s, died suddenly but peacefully at his home in Deansgrange, Dublin yesterday.

The writer of more than 25 books about Irish history and sport was also the father of award-winning author Colum McCann.

Mr McCann enjoyed growing roses in his spare time, a hobby which landed him several international prizes.

He is survived by his wife Sally and five children.

Mr McCann’s remains will repose at the family home on Clonkeen Road on Thursday evening from 5pm.

His funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10am in St Brigid’s Church Cabinteely, followed by burial in Dean’s Grange cemetery.
