FOI site hacked

The Government's Freedom of Information (FoI) website was hacked last night.

The website foi.gov.ie was inaccessible, with a message claiming the site had been hacked appearing over a blank screen. A spokesperson said the incident was being investigated.

Minister's mother dies

The mother of Housing Minister Paudie Coffey has died. Eileen Coffey, a retired public health nurse from Portlaw in Co Waterford, was in her 80s.

She is survived by her sons Eoin, Brendán and Paudie and daughter Maireád. Her funeral takes place at noon tomorrow at St Patrick's Church in Portlaw.

Walking the walk

She will turn 90 on her next birthday, but Sr Caoimhín Ní Ullacháin isn't slowing down yet.

The founder of The Matt Talbot Community Trust (MTCT) in Ballyfermot, Dublin, will - with her dog Tara - lead a 4km Fun Walk this Sunday. Walkers - four or two-legged - are welcome to take part. The event will start at 2.45pm at the MTCT centre at the rear of the Church of Assumption in Ballyfermot.
