Filling station worker struck with a gun during late night robbery

A worker in a Co Louth filling station has been hit with a gun during a robbery.

The incident happened in the Applegreen station on the Ballymakenny Road, Drogheda at 11pm last night.

Gardai confirmed that are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred at the service station.

Two men entered the service station and demanded cash from the shop keeper.

One man struck the shop keeper with what is believed to be a gun.

A sum of cash was stolen in the course of the robbery.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
