Family and friends have launched an appeal to help find a man who went missing two weeks ago.

Liam Roberts (41) was last seen at his home in Spring Garden Alley, Waterford, on Saturday, July 4. He is described as 6ft tall, with blue eyes, and usually wears trainers, baggy jeans a t-shirt and a hoodie.

It is understood that Mr Roberts, who is originally from Ballyragget, Co Kilkenny, travelled from Spring Garden Alley to Tramore and was last sighted on July 9/10 walking towards sand dunes and away from the promenade of the town.

Since then, there have been searches around the Waterford coast, by friends, family members and concerned members of the public.

Phillip O’Reilly, Mr Roberts’ brother-in-law, is asking for local volunteers to help search along the Back Strand in Tramore on Saturday.

“We’re not expecting good news... We know he might be gone, but if we could find him it would be some sort of closure for the family,” said Mr O’Reilly.

Local volunteers are asked to assemble at the National Training Centre for Beach Guards in Tramore, tomorrow (Saturday) at 11am.

The search is being conducted with help from the gardaí and the coast guard.

Anyone with information are asked to contact gardaí at The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111, or any Garda Station.
