Elderly woman dies in hospital three months after house fire

A woman injured in a house fire in Drogheda in August has passed away in hospital.

Gardai confirmed that Mrs Eva Berrill, who was in her 70s and from the Chord Road, Drogheda has died.

It is believed that Mrs Berrill, who was left disabled following a stroke ten years ago, had not left hospital since the fire on the 16th August.

The State Pathologist has been notified and will carry out a post-mortem.

A woman has been charged with alleged arson in relation to the fire and the case is currently before the courts.
