Elderly woman (91) struck by car outside Dublin shop dies, gardaí appeal for witnesses

A 91-year-old woman struck by a car in South Dublin has died, gardaí have confirmed.

Officers in Blackrock Co Dublin have launched a fresh appeal for information about the accident which took place ten days ago.

The elderly woman, named localluy as Beatrice Ryan, suffered serious head injuries when she was struck by a beige coloured Saab outside the Asian Market on the Old Dublin Road, Stillorgan Co Dublin at approximately 4.12pm on Saturday, March 25.

She was taken by ambulance to St Vincent's Hospital where she was treated for her injuries. She died three days later from her injuries.

A funeral notice posted online confirmed that she died "peacefully" in hospital.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward. A senior source said the vehicle and driver remained at the scene and gardaí are trying to establish details of the incident.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, particularly those who were in the vicinity of the collision between 4pm & 4.30pm to contact them at Blackrock Garda Station on 01 666 5200, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
