It's going to be one very good weekend for a group of Dublin-based workers who collected a cheque for €500,000 today.

The six-strong group won the top prize in last Tuesday's Euromillions Plus draw.

“I logged in to our account and saw we’d won half a million Euro. I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said the syndicate organiser. “I was sure it was a mistake so logged out and logged back in again and sure enough it popped up again.”

Each member of the group, which has been playing for almost a year, will share the fund, taking home over €83,000 each.

The winning ticket, which was purchased online, was a €36 Multi Draw ticket.

The group, which wishes to keep the win private, are the first Play Now top prize winners of 2015.

Unsurprisingly many of their plans for the windfall include paying some bills.

However, a number of members of the group are wildlife enthusiasts and plan to use some of the fund to adopt a tiger.
