Cyclist fighting for life after a collision with pedestrian in the Phoenix Park newsdesk

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a serious injury collision in the Phoenix Park yesterday evening.

A man in his 50s was cycling on the cycle lane on the upper part of Chesterfield Ave - the city bound side between Aras an Uachtaráin and the Castleknock Gate - when he was involved in a collision with a pedestrian at 8.40pm.

The male cyclist was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he is described as being in a "critical condition".

The pedestrian, who is in his 30’s, was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital with leg and back injuries.
